How to pick a BO6 gun in 2026
Black Ops 6 still has its own meta. Do not copy a Warzone FG42 class into BO6 Ranked. Do not copy an XM4 6v6 class into Battle Royale.
Pick one AR for mid-to-long lanes. Pick one SMG for rooms. That pair is the whole plan.

XM4 as the starter AR

AMES 85 is the Ranked laser. Ported compensator, reinforced barrel, vertical foregrip, Infiltrator stock, Kepler Microflex. First-shot recoil dies. You walk while ADS.
If you want more snap, swap the vertical grip for an Ergonomic grip. You give up some horizontal control.
Best SMG BO6
The best SMG BO6 pick is Jackal PDW. Gain-Twist barrel, Ranger foregrip, Ergonomic grip, Infiltrator stock, recoil springs. Mobility and mid-range TTK stay intact.
Kompakt 92 is the other Ranked SMG if you want a different close-range feel. C9 was a staple, then it got pulled from some Ranked rulesets. Check the current banned list before you lock it.
GPR 91 is the backup AR if XM4 and AMES both feel wrong. Same range idea. Less of a default.
BO6 guns in Warzone
XM4, AMES 85, Jackal, and Kompakt 92 are still in the Warzone pool. Pick rate is low next to FG42 and CBRS-3.
